FAQ

01How long does a commission take from first fitting to delivery?

For most pieces, the process takes four to six weeks from the first fitting appointment. Bridal commissions, which involve three appointments and a toile, typically run six to eight weeks. If you have a specific event date, please mention it when you first get in touch so we can confirm whether the timeline is workable.

02Do I need to come in person, or can measurements be taken remotely?

An in-person fitting is required for all commissions. The studio is at Mizuhonocho in Ashikaga, Tochigi. We take between 18 and 22 measurements at the first appointment, including posture and rib cage depth, which cannot be captured accurately by a self-measurement guide. Clients who travel from outside Ashikaga often arrange two appointments on consecutive days to keep travel manageable.

03What should I wear to my fitting appointment?

Fitted, thin clothing works best. A close-fitting top and leggings or fitted trousers. Avoid thick knitwear or structured jackets. If you are commissioning a piece to wear under a specific dress, bringing that dress to the fitting is helpful, though not essential for the first appointment.

04Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. A 50% deposit is taken at the first fitting appointment to confirm the commission and cover the cost of materials. The remaining balance is due at the final fitting before the piece is handed over. Payment is accepted by bank transfer or in cash.

05Is the studio accessible by public transport?

Yes. Ashikaga can be reached by train on the JR Ryomo Line and the Tobu Isesaki Line. Visits are by appointment only, and when we confirm your fitting we send the exact address and local directions for the last stretch from the station.
